My Background
- As a mature woman at mid life, my work history has gone through three major phases.
- The first phase in my earlier life centred around the world of interior design from 1996 to 2010. I worked my way up from a painter and decorator to an interior architect, gained a Bachelors of Arts degree in interior architecture, ran a small business, and taught an HND in Interior Architecture course at a college. From this I have a seasoned creative eye for design, detailing, colours and forms.
- In 2008, my life changed quite suddenly and I pivoted into my second phase, supporting adults with life limiting health conditions or a disability, to regain independence through rehabilitation.
- And here I am today, in my third phase of life, drawing on all of my previous skills and combining these with my passion for gardening. I have been a keen gardener since I was a young girl, and am obsessed with spring time blossoms, hence my business name being dedicated to the magnolia tree.
- I am inspired by the blooms found in traditional Victorian gardens, as well as the colours and architectural shapes found in Japanese gardens.
- My love for the natural world means you will find me in the depths of the forest among the oaks, spotting birds and wildlife, and finding solace under green canopies.
